Salt evaporation ponds of Maras, Peru. Maras is a town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Cuzco Region of Peru. The evaporation ponds have been in use since before Inca times. A man can bee seen working at the ponds.

Like so many other photographers, Oscar Gutierrez's passion for photography began as a hobby, which he has enjoyed since he was in his teens. More recently he was encouraged by his wife to take his longtime love of nature and travel photography to the next level. After exhibiting his work and winning several photo contests, Oscar decided to professionalize his passion and now works with multiple clients to license his library of imagery. While Oscar enjoys trying to capture the bright, vivid colors that can be found throughout the natural world, from majestic landscapes to tiny insects, he believes his still imagery pales in comparison to the true beauty of nature.
